Human Resources Assistant

Human Resources Assistant

Summary:

Oversees various Human Resource functions related to benefits and personnel issues to ensure accurate and timely reporting of information to employees, services, and management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and adhere to APG’s Guiding Principles.
  • Backup Administrative Assistant function as needed including phone and guest service support.
  • Address employee questions and concerns related to HR responsibilities including, but not limited to, benefits and company policies.
  • Investigate and report on behavior violations inconsistent with APG’s Employee Handbook.
  • Solve basic employee conflict issues as directed by APG’s HR Manager.
  • Screen applicant resumes and conduct phone interviews when required.
  • Coordinate and schedule applicant interviews.
  • Check calculated time cards and weekly spreadsheet for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain APG paid-time-off (“PTO”) system:
    – Record and reconcile employee PTO for accurate tracking of earned and used vacation and personal time.
    – Manually calculate and record monthly vacation time earned for special circumstances.
    – Print yearly PTO reports and distribute to employees.
  • Log Record and reconcile employee FMLA hours used based on timecards and medical leave data.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment benefits meeting and reporting requirements.
  • Track Log and maintain database for employee annual preventative screening form completions.
  • Maintain Fidelity 401(K) database in coordination with UMI to ensure employee information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Coordinate annual 401(k) reporting requirements with UMI.
  • Update and maintain APG’s Human Resource Information System (“HRIS”) with employee data as needed.
  • Filing appropriate HR and related paperwork as needed.
  • Develop and/or maintain digital media of APG’s employee documentation and forms related to all areas of Human Resources including benefits and policies.
  • Provide customer service, both in-person and by telephone; screen and direct telephone calls; take and relay messages; answer questions from employees and the general public
  • Provide general clerical and administrative support to APG’s Human Resources department by preparing correspondences related to company programs and activities
  • Prepare reports pertaining to Human Resource management programs and activities.
  • Back-up HR Manager functions as necessary to ensure timely and seamless processing of internal and external information.

 

Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree (A. A.) from a two-year college in Human Resource with 3+ years related experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Human Resources a plus with 2+ years human resources with related experience required; highly prefer benefits knowledge and payroll experience.

SUSTAINING MECHANICAL ENGINEER LEVEL III

 

Summary:

A Sustaining Mechanical Engineer Level III is responsible for design engineering support to all company groups that request service. Their focus is mechanical design for new and existing products, fixtures and tools

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:.

  • Design and documentation of new products and improvement to existing products.
  • Design of fixtures, and familiarity with tooling such as stamping and injection molding
  • Proofing of their design sufficiently to make certain required design requirements are achieved.
  • Skillfully analyze designs, identifying problems and removing potential trouble spots.
  • Creation of drawings for documentation and fabrication.
  • Support the coordination of drafting and other work related to the design.
  • Work with purchasing, quality, and fabrication department, outside vendors, machine shops, and other fabrication houses to obtain prototype parts and production volume capabilities.
  • Ability to work hands-on with prototype parts and assembly.
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing or building of prototype products or systems.
  • Develop cost estimates for parts and finished good using formal quoting process.
  • Compile and analyze operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or product.
  • Develop experimental test plans, implementation of test plan and documentation of test results.
  • Evaluate test results for design verification.
  • Assist with the part and product release process by creating engineering change orders; participating in engineering change review meetings, and conducting design reviews.
  • Identifying opportunities of improvement for assembly, fabrication, cost saving.
  • Collaborate with product management in defining new products.
  • Provide expertise on mechanical design practices.
  • Act as a mentor to more junior engineers and designers.
  • Interact with all levels of management, engineering, quality assurance, production control, document control, drafting, shop floor personnel, vendors, and customers.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner.
  • Organize work load to complete all activities within a schedule and a budget.
  • Handle large or multiple projects of a complex nature simultaneously that may cross several disciplines.
  • Assure that all engineering documentation, drawings, specifications, bill of materials, manuals and engineering records are of an appropriate quality and meet applicable standards.
  • Support production by troubleshooting assembly concerns; creating or modifying assembly instruction.

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and creative ability; self-motivated; ability to work under general supervision.
  • Requires use of CAD systems; auto cad; solidworks (minimum of 2,000 hrs.)
  • Basic computer skills: Microsoft office word processing, spreadsheets, data base and email.
  • Sheet metal experience required.
  • Injection molding experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of material processing: metals-hardening, annealing, stress relieving, etc.
  • Thorough understanding or ability to learn fabrication processes: turning, milling, grinding, polishing, laser cutting, sheet metal forming, drawing and spinning.
  • Experience with inspection and measurement techniques.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechanical preferred. Minimum of six years’ experience in a manufacturing setting
